Every plaque I create is built from the ground up using a hands-on process that blends craftsmanship, technology, and attention to detail. From sourcing materials to final finishing, nothing is rushed and nothing is outsourced.
Each order is treated individually. The image is prepared, the material is selected and finished, and every component is created to work together as a complete piece.
Material Preparation
Each piece begins with carefully selected wood, sourced locally whenever possible. I cut every board to size, then sand and prepare the surface to ensure it's perfectly smooth and ready for engraving. This stage sets the foundation. If the material isn’t right, nothing else will be.
Image Processing & Laser Engraving
Your image is individually processed using professional software to ensure it translates properly into a laser engraving. This may include adjustments, enhancements, or upscaling depending on the quality of the original file. Once prepared, the image is engraved directly into the wood using precision laser equipment - capturing detail, contrast, and depth.
Finishing & Protection
After engraving, the plaque is sealed with multiple coats of polyurethane to protect the surface and enhance the detail. Each coat is sanded between applications for a smooth, durable finish. Once cured, the piece is hand-buffed and finished with a wax coating for a clean, refined look.

Strategy
Depending on your selection, your plaque can remain a clean, standalone piece or be upgraded into a full display with a custom-designed frame and base. The frame and base are not off-the-shelf components; they were specifically designed to complement the plaque and are produced in-house using 3D printing. Additional customization options include embossed phrases, color accents, and design variations to make each piece even more personal.
